Mudasir Yatoo, a first year student in the CDT-ACM, has been awarded a Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samm Award 2016 by theĀ  the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Welfare Society. The Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samman Award is presented to 20 recipients who have been selected from over 30 million Non-Resident Indians, or people of Indian origin, for exceptional achievements in various fields. The award recognizes those Indians who have made their mark overseas for outstanding services, achievements and for championing the profile of India around the world. The awardees were honoured on the eve of the Republic Day celebrations on 25th January 2016, at a glittering awards ceremony in New Delhi.

Mudasir is researching the development of layered oxides for electrochemical devices, and is supervised by Professor Stephen Skinner and Dr Ainara Aguadero.
