Writing retreat in Windsor

A group of 3rd and 4th year CDT students attended the writing retreat in Windsor for 2 days this May. The mornings involved attending a online course with Scriptocube on Academic writing and reducing anxiety whilst the afternoons were spent on quite time to concentrate on writing in the peaceful surroundings of a lovely Windsor hotel.

Students used this time to work on literature reviews, thesis chapter planning and paper publications. Using mind maps and a 7 step plan by Dr Catriona Ryan the course provider.

Studying my PhD as part of the ACM CDT not only provided me with valuable training courses and workshops on characterisation techniques, but also regular academic seminars, team activities, and discussions to help expand my interests, both inside and outside of research.
