Biography

Research Project: Correlative Cryo-imaging for Understanding Mode of Action of Anti-microbials
Supervisors: Alex Porter (ICL) and Eric Robles (Proctor & Gamble)

Annie graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a BSc in Biomedical Science in 2021. During her BSc she undertook a Microbiology Society funded studentship to investigate the role of membrane vesicles in phage susceptibility transfer in C. difficile. Annie’s PhD project is using cryo-imaging techniques including SEM and TEM to investigate the mode of action of anti-microbial agents against a range of microbes, in order to identify fast killing candidates which can be utilised in products by her sponsor, Proctor & Gamble.
