Biography

Research Project: In-situ alloying in laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing for
extreme functional grading
Supervisors: Rocco Lupoi (TCD)

Arnie graduated with a BAI and MAI in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Trinity College Dublin in 2021. His final year project in the STAM research group included the development of a Dry Aerosol Jet printing technology to produce conductive silver micro-tracks. The final year project inspired a passion for additive manufacturing and innovation, and hence his PhD is investigating technologies for in-situ alloying for extreme functional gradience in AM. This work will give rise to novel material characteristics and new applications for AM in industry.
