Biography

Research Project:Novel scanning probe methods to manipulate and characterise molecular semiconductors for advanced applications
Supervisors:
Sandrine Heutz (ICL)

Emma graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA/MSci in Materials Science. She then worked as an engineer at GE Aviation Dowty Propellers, focusing on advanced composites, metallurgy and manufacturing.

Emma is now based at Imperial College London in Prof. Sandrine Heutz’s group. Her PhD topic involves using scanning probe microscopy techniques to characterize molecular semiconductors, and tailoring their properties using ferroelectric substrates. These organic semiconductors have important applications for flexible, lightweight devices used in computing and solar cells.
