Research Project: Electrochemistry in Confined Nanoscale Geometries
Supervisors: Mary Ryan (ICL)

Oliver completed his undergraduate studies at Imperial College London, with a MEng in Materials Science and Engineering. His MEng project involved the synthesis of thin film nanoporous copper substrates, which have promising applications as electrocatalysts in the field of CO2 reduction. His PhD will focus on probing processes at electrochemical interfaces, using both in-situ and operando techniques. This research will help to provide a greater fundamental understanding of the degradation mechanisms at these interfaces, which in turn will help to increase the operational lifetime of electrochemical systems.

Studying my PhD as part of the ACM CDT not only provided me with valuable training courses and workshops on characterisation techniques, but also regular academic seminars, team activities, and discussions to help expand my interests, both inside and outside of research.
