Biography

Research Project: Electrochemistry in Confined Nanoscale Geometries
Supervisors: Mary Ryan (ICL)

Oliver completed his undergraduate studies at Imperial College London, with a MEng in Materials Science and Engineering. His MEng project involved the synthesis of thin film nanoporous copper substrates, which have promising applications as electrocatalysts in the field of CO2 reduction. His PhD will focus on probing processes at electrochemical interfaces, using both in-situ and operando techniques. This research will help to provide a greater fundamental understanding of the degradation mechanisms at these interfaces, which in turn will help to increase the operational lifetime of electrochemical systems.

The CDT provided me with the tools to develop my career as a researcher and to participate in Outreach activities to broaden my skills. I really enjoyed my time as a student in the CDT and look forward to continuing collaborations with the research groups there.
